The government
Well, of all of these, the government is in competition with banks: The government has the monopole of taxes, while banks have the monopole of...eh...banking: you're not a civil person without a bank account (nowadays even with a bank account you're worthless if you don't have a fancy credit/debit card with it).
So how does the government fuck you over? Well, in numerous ways, let put out a little list here:
- taxes
- taxes
- laws
- laws for taxes
But hey, you'd say, taxes are good! They provide for the payement of the unemployment money, build roads, schools and fund innovation.
My points against this argument:
i pay so many fucking taxes it's amazing
- taxes that my employer pays after me: ~70% of my salary
- taxes off my salary: ~30% of my salary
- local taxes: 30% of my salary
- trade taxes: 20% of everything i buy
- income taxes
and i probably forgot some
for a total of more than 100% of my salary going to taxes, and what do i get in return?
- crappy schools that resemble a prison more than anything else
- roads for cars that pollute and kill people, roads i don't use, except for getting run over by cars
- trade agreements that not only exploit me and every other peon in the country, but every other peon on the face of the planet, especially the poorest ones
- not even talking about the police harassing me, beating me up, etc.
in my oppinion the taxes are used to hold back the society, used by rich and powerful politicians to beat down the people who pay and elect them
they are not held accountable for the money they take, basically after it goes into their pockets we have no clue where it goes
